The Easter Bunny's got nothing on these Kids

Greetings and Salutations to all!

I know it was a few weeks back but, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating the resurrection of our savior! It was a busy yet fantastic weekend here at SFCV with many joys and smiles!

Our staff decided to take a different route to the resurrection celebration this year. Normally we all head to the city for Easter Sunday service and an nice afternoon lunch; however, this year, we all headed up north out of the city to the Great Wall, then later to the very center of our city, the Forbidden City! What better way to celebrate Christ than spending the day in his marvelous creation! Honestly, I've been the Great Wall 5 times now, and I have to say this Easter was the most beautiful day EVER on the wall! The sky was clear, the sun was warm and the wall wasn't crowded (all of these things are pretty rare)! It was a gorgeous day, with great friends, celebrating our salvation! I know I say this a lot, but I am so utterly grateful for all that Christ has done to save my life and get me here to SFCV. I'm honored to give of my time and skills to help these precious kids, I mean after all, Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice with His life, just so I can be here. It's amazing! I'm honored that He saved me all those years ago! Happy Easter!

Easter Monday, was quite the colorful day...if you know what I mean?! A few guest came and joined our staff as we all gathered in the School to help and assist the children as they colored Easter eggs. Oh.MY. WORD! You guys!! Our kids are so flipping adorable and talented! I saw more passion and creativeness poured into decorating those 400 eggs than I've seen in several art museums! They did a fabulous job! Just take a look!

The following morning, all the children gathered for our annual SFCV Easter Egg hunt! The search was on, over 400 Eggs hidden on our campus longing to be found. The hunt was awesome! I saw so many of our kids who had found lots of eggs, help those who had found only 1 or 2, the older ones helping the younger, the ones that could walk assisting those who couldn't...it was truly heartwarming! My heart was deeply touched by the love, servant hood and passion that all of our staff & guests showed in order to put on this fun event for our kids. Guys, I work with some amazing and selfless people! I'm so blessed by each of them. And our kids....I mean they were just adorable! It was a great day celebrating what Christ did for all of us at Calvary and his triumphant rise from the grave!
Just take a look at all the photos....

Ni hao from Shepherd's Field Children's Village!!

Ni Hao from Shepherd's Field Children's Village!     It's hard to believe that I have already been here for 1 whole month! Some mornings I wake up and and feel like I'm still dreaming, I'm so blessed to have this life be my reality. I would like to thank each and every person who has loved me, prayed for me and helped to support me. You have no idea how blessed I am by your faithfulness and God's goodness! Thank you! My arrival at Shepherd's Field on October 1st was ideal, I unknowingly came during October Holiday, which is a week long celebration of Chinese Independence, during this holiday all of our children are out of school and there is no work for local or foreign staff. Arriving during Holiday was quite nice, since it allowed me time to adjust and settle into my new home, get over my jet lag, and really reconnect with other staff members. It was especially nice to reconnect with the therapy team that I had work so closely with over the summe...

Team CMYK!

Cmyk! I'd like to introduce you all to a very special little someone. Meet, Charley Moon Yingmi Kasper or Cmyk (sm-ick) as I like to call her. Charley Moon is one of the adorable bundles-of-joy that I have had the privilege of working with. As most 2 1/2 year old's are, Charley Moon is quite the character; she's a dancer, a comedian, a lover, a keeper of secrets, and an adoptee. Over the last few months I've had the honor to sit in a front seat and watch the final pieces of her adoption fall into place and I have to say that witnessing this miracle has changed my life. Charley Moon and Mommy - July 2013 I first met Charley Moon and her (now) mother, Kayla on my very first trip to China in July of 2013. When I met, Cmyk or "Leah" as she was called back then, she was just about 18months old and weighed no more than 15 pounds. When she arrived at Shepherd's Field in the spring 2012, she was struggling to maintain good nutrition and very underdeve...

It's been Forever....

Hey All! Wow, It's been a while since my last post, but as promised I'm back! It's been a very busy fall thus far for me and I'm just now getting back in the swing of the hustle and bustle of this new season. Can I just tell ya...I LOVE Autumn! The weather cooling down, the breeze starts blowing, the leaves changing and beginning to fall, jeans and hoodie weather.....hmmmm nothing like it! Well...as I promised....a while ago....here's a bit of what's been happening in our program the last few weeks! In Late August, we hosted a two-day therapy seminar for our therapy team, as well as therapy staff from one of our partnering orphanages, Taiyuan; the seminar was taught by our partners at LIH Olivia's Place therapy center. The seminar was entitled, "Positioning, proper feeding techniques, oral care and basic communication development" wherein the staff provided both lectures, discussions and practical sessions. The seminar couldn't have gon...
