The Easter Bunny's got nothing on these Kids

Greetings and Salutations to all!

I know it was a few weeks back but, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating the resurrection of our savior! It was a busy yet fantastic weekend here at SFCV with many joys and smiles!

Our staff decided to take a different route to the resurrection celebration this year. Normally we all head to the city for Easter Sunday service and an nice afternoon lunch; however, this year, we all headed up north out of the city to the Great Wall, then later to the very center of our city, the Forbidden City! What better way to celebrate Christ than spending the day in his marvelous creation! Honestly, I've been the Great Wall 5 times now, and I have to say this Easter was the most beautiful day EVER on the wall! The sky was clear, the sun was warm and the wall wasn't crowded (all of these things are pretty rare)! It was a gorgeous day, with great friends, celebrating our salvation! I know I say this a lot, but I am so utterly grateful for all that Christ has done to save my life and get me here to SFCV. I'm honored to give of my time and skills to help these precious kids, I mean after all, Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice with His life, just so I can be here. It's amazing! I'm honored that He saved me all those years ago! Happy Easter!

Easter Monday, was quite the colorful day...if you know what I mean?! A few guest came and joined our staff as we all gathered in the School to help and assist the children as they colored Easter eggs. Oh.MY. WORD! You guys!! Our kids are so flipping adorable and talented! I saw more passion and creativeness poured into decorating those 400 eggs than I've seen in several art museums! They did a fabulous job! Just take a look!

The following morning, all the children gathered for our annual SFCV Easter Egg hunt! The search was on, over 400 Eggs hidden on our campus longing to be found. The hunt was awesome! I saw so many of our kids who had found lots of eggs, help those who had found only 1 or 2, the older ones helping the younger, the ones that could walk assisting those who couldn't...it was truly heartwarming! My heart was deeply touched by the love, servant hood and passion that all of our staff & guests showed in order to put on this fun event for our kids. Guys, I work with some amazing and selfless people! I'm so blessed by each of them. And our kids....I mean they were just adorable! It was a great day celebrating what Christ did for all of us at Calvary and his triumphant rise from the grave!
Just take a look at all the photos....

Be Encouraged

"All of my life, In every season, You are still God, I have a reason to sing,  I have a reason to Worship..."     You may or may not be familiar with Hillsong Music, which is a well-recognized music ministry based out of Hillsong Church in Australia. I truly believe that God has blessed this ministry and has used it to draw others to Himself.  This music has the ability to capture and speak to the depths of our soul and draw you into a time of worship. For the last several weeks, I've been listening to "Hillsongs radio" on Pandora and I love it! Yesterday morning a song came on that I had heard before but had never honed in on the words or their meaning. The words began to speak deeply to my heart and instantly drew me into the tangible presence of God. By now you may have guessed it, that song was entitled " Desert Song". It talks about continually having a heart of praise, gratefulness and trust in God because, no matter what happ...

Hong Kong Adventure, Part II

Hey Friends! HK here we come! :) As promised, I'm here to tell you all about my recent adventure to Hong Kong. Several of you may remember that I have a small traveling buddy that accompanies me on my adventures here in china. Her name is I Love You Bear or ILY as I call her. In Early September, ILY and I set out on our most recent adventure to Hong Kong to renew my Chinese visa. If you know me, then you know that I tend not to have the best luck when it comes to traveling. Thankfully this trip was much better than trips in the past. The one and only "hiccup" per say was on during my exit of mainland china. I flew from Beijing to Shanghai and had a short layover before catching a flight to Hong Kong. During this lay over I had to go through Chinese immigration to get my passport stamped to verify my leaving the country. I got in line with plenty of time before my flight,  I stood in line for what felt like forever, but finally it was my turn. As always, I stepped u...
