No Holding Back

If only I was 30... a thought my heart so often thinks. Ever have that feeling where you know you have to say something even though you don't want to? Yeah? Well, I feel a bit of that with this post. I'm struggling, but can't hold back the truth. People say, that when you feel your heart ache for another you've come to truly love. Well...I guess I'm there. This post is about a boy that has changed my life, the way I see and do my job, and my relationship with Christ. He was here in the beginning and has helped to change it all...I can't imagine my life without him here at SFCV, but hope and pray one day he's gone. If you've met Jason, then you've met a piece of my heart. I adore this boy who is so rapidly becoming a young man. I will never forget the day he arrived here at SFCV from Banyuanar Orphanage (Inner Mongolia) in late-November of 2014 and stumbled into our therapy clinic with his green walker, huffing and puffing from exhaustion. Summer Fun

Hey y'all! Hope your summer has been as fun as ours! It's been almost 2 months since my last blog post, so I wanted to take a moment and share some of our summer highlights with you! Children's Day My FAVORITE Day of the year! Why? June 1, International Children's Day, is one of the biggest and bestest (😜) days of the year at SFCV, the kids perform, sing, dance, act and flaunt their incredible talents, what's not to love!?! We have the same routine/ schedule every year and it never gets old. Morning: kids perform, Lunch:McDonald's with the kids (a treat), Afternoon: campus-wide water fight! Just check out the photos... they say it all. July 4th: U.S. Independence Day! America's 241st birthday was celebrated in true American fashion: BBQ, Cornhole, fireworks, smores and lots of smiles! It was a great day celebrating the freedom that allows people like me to be able to come here to China and do what I do. All around spectacular day with the kids all...

The Six

Hey guys! It's been a time of great movement and fluctuation in our program. This last few months we've added Six new faces and I'd like to introduce them to you all! Charlie Charlie came to SFCV back in December. Guys - this kid, ahhhh, He's the sweetest child!! He has such a gentle and loving spirit. Before Charlie Arrived at SFCV, he had never had the ability or been given the chance to stand or walk on his own. In the short time that we've been working with Charlie he's made tremendous progress. He now propels himself in his wheelchair, can stand (with some assistance) for about 12 minutes and has even begun to take steps using a platform walker! He's such a hard and determined worker. We're seeing Charlie for PT and OT. Samuel Samuel came this last December from another foster home in Beijing. He's 8 years old and oh so hilarious! He's got quite the dry sense of humor, but when he's got a smile that can warm any soul. Desp...
