Sid: "HellooooOO!"

Hi! I'm Sid! Good Morning to all of you in the west and Good Night to all of you on my half of the world! I can't wait to tell you all about this awesome kid named, Sid. Kid named, Sid! haha, it rhymes! LOL :) Sid is awesome you're all going to love him, I just know it! Sid came to SFCV, not that long ago from a city in inner Mongolia (North China) called, Baotou. He has called SFCV home for almost 3 years, and boy are we happy to have him here! He's a ray of sunshine and can bring a smile to anyone's face. I chose to write my first advocacy blog about Sid for two reasons: 1. He's awesome and everyone should know about him and all that he can do, plus he needs a forever family...soon! and 2. On June 1st, Sid will turn 12 years old. That means he only has 2 more years to find a forever family. In China once a child turns 14years old they can no longer be adopted. This is heartbreaking. A lot of kids with special needs that age out of the adoption system

Hello and Happy mid-March everyone! I can't believe how fast time is flying by - it seems like just yesterday I was in Chicago and longing to be home in China. Well, I'm here now and things are rolling right along. Joanna met her Forever Family March 11 Over the last 18months or so that I've been here in China, with God's grace and guidance I've started several new projects/ tasks that (I believe) are helping these kids. Of course there are the obvious ones: continuing the awesome work that's happening in our therapy program, starting and developing a new speech program, incorporating and training a therapy dog for use in our program, etc. Despite all of these projects and tasks, the one thing that is still so pressing on my heart is:  Advocacy.  A lot of what we do here at SFCV gets shared on social media, in our newsletter and in sponsor updates, all of which are incredible ways of getting the good news out there and advocating for these kids! Hellloooooo! Wow, wow, wow! So, as I'm sure you all know, it's been a while since my last post. It's been a very busy time since my arrival back here in China. Despite the craziness, the big take away from that sentence is that, I'M BACK IN CHINA!! YAY!! I've officially been home for 2 weeks today, and It's sooooo good to be back: back with the cutest and most adorable kids in all of China (I'm biased - i know), back with my awesome co-workers, and of course back with my sidekick Zai! From the day I got back until now, it's really been a sprint and playing "catch up" but I have NO complaints! Have I been insanely busy? Yes, but I love what I do, where I do it and the people with whom I get to do it with - I'm so blessed. Ok, so in case you're wondering...here's what's been going on... Cathy 1. Therapy. Things could not be going any better! ....well, ok, they could be, but currently things are great! We have had sever
